Welcome, since this site just recently opened there are no real FAQs as of yet. However since you are here you probably have at least one question you are wanting an answer to.
Use our contact form or send a message to email (at) 807market (dot) com
Meanwhile here some questions and answers that I think will be asked:
Q: Do I need to register on this site to post an ad?
A: No, however you will need to enter a valid email address to activate your ad and manage your ad afterwards. In the future there may be optional membership registration for commercial/business advertisers (for extra/special features).
Q: Why should I post an ad here when I could use a bigger classifieds site?
A: This site services the Northwestern Ontario area, so if that is the area your selling to or seeking something in then this site is where you should focus your ads. Even if you do use the other sites, also having your ad in more than one place such as our site gives you more coverage.
BTW: All websites have to start somewhere, so please spread the word. The more stuff posted here the more traffic to follow and more exposure to the right people for your ad.
Q: What can I or can not sell on this site?
A: Weapons of mass destruction would be a no no, but seriously if you are unsure you can visit the general ‘User Content and Conduct Policy‘. Even though it pertains mostly to blog/forum type sites, it is still relevant to the content of ads on this site.
Q: Can I include an image/photo with my ad and if so what size?
A: An image/photo can be included and is recommended (however not required). Ad images/photos should be no less than 240 pixels (W/H) at least 480 pixels recommended and no larger than 1024 pixels (W/H) in size and not larger than 1MB in file size. A browser message will pop up (leaving page? notice) if you did not successfully place an image for your ad.
Q: I see that there are free and paid ads, what’s up with that?
A: If you are not posting an ad on behalf of a business then you are welcome to choose the free ad option (ex: yard sale). As a thank you for supporting our site paid ads do allow more than one image and more content. Please send us feedback on what other features you would like to see in the paid ads.
Q: What if I am posting an ad on behalf of a business?
A: If you are posting an ad on behalf of a business then you are encouraged to use the paid ad option. There’s technically nothing stopping you from choosing the free option, however choosing a paid ad helps pay for the cost of operating this site and encourages the webmaster to continue working on the site to make improvements (make things better for you).
Q: What if I’m posting an ad as a non-profit business?
A: At this point no one is being forced to use the paid ad option so this question is not yet relevant, however if in the future we change things nonprofit business would be allowed to choose the free ad option.
Q: How do I know if I qualify as a nonprofit?
A: The simple answer is if you charge/collect tax for your products/services then you are a for profit business. Ex: Salvation Army thrift store is a nonprofit where as Value Village thrift store is a for profit business.
If in doubt check it out! If unsure about anything of this site please contact us.
